1. Data controller

2. Which data we collect
- Data from the quote request form: name, e-mail address, phone number, type of insurance, credit or leasing requested, your message and the additional details you provide (for example details about your home, activity, staff or payroll).
- Documents you upload, such as your identity card, driving licence, registration certificate, current contract, claims history, tax assessment notice or balance sheet.
- Technical data needed to deliver the website securely, such as IP address, browser type and the date and time of your visit, processed by our hosting provider in server logs.
3. Purposes
- Answering your quote request and contacting you about it.
- Insurance and credit brokerage: analysing your needs, comparing offers from insurers and credit providers and following up your contract and claims.
- Complying with our legal obligations as an insurance and credit intermediary (for example anti-money-laundering rules, duty of care and record-keeping).
- Keeping the website secure and working properly.
4. Legal bases
- Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) for handling quote requests and brokerage.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) for the obligations that apply to insurance and credit intermediaries.
- Your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR) for any health data you choose to share, for example for health or life insurance. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
- Our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in the security of the website.
5. Recipients
We never sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
- The insurers and credit providers we compare and consult for your request, only to the extent necessary to obtain an offer.
- Our IT and hosting providers, which process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Your data is processed in the European Economic Area or in countries recognised by the European Commission as offering an adequate level of protection. If a transfer outside the EU is ever necessary, it only takes place with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
7. Retention
- Quote requests that do not lead to a contract, and the documents attached to them, are deleted after 12 months.
- Client files are kept for the period required by law for insurance and credit intermediaries.
- Technical server logs are kept only for a short period for security purposes.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise these rights, send an e-mail to info@lc-credins.be. We answer within one month.
9. Complaints
If you believe your data is not being processed correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
